Percy's Comfort Kit

Percy's Comfort Kit is a Minecraft datapack that contains several methods to sit. There is an immersive method to turn stairs into chairs using carpets, and crafting recipes for a special chair item that lets you make a chair anywhere.

Percy’s Comfort Kit is compatible with Minecraft Realms. Whether you're playing in singleplayer, multiplayer, or on Realms, you'll have the same experience everywhere!

Using carpets

Drop any carpet item onto a stair block cutout to make it a chair. Make sure the stair is upright.

This summons an interaction entity the player can sit on with an item display entity showing the dropped carpet.

To remove, punch the carpet or remove the stair block. The carpet will be dropped.

Crafting Recipe

Combine any carpet and a stick in a crafting grid to make a chair item. This recipe is shapeless.

Dropping this chair anywhere (not limited to stairs), creates the same entity described in the "Using Carpets" section where the item lands.

Interacting while holding the item in their hand (right-click by default), creates the same entity described in the "Using Carpets" section and sits the player where they stand.
