Lasguy's 2x2 Trees
Lasguy’s 2x2 Trees — Description
Want way more wood without ugly megaspruce everywhere? This pack adds 2×2 variants for oak, birch, acacia, and cherry—purpose-built for tree farming, not aesthetics.
How to use
Plant: place a 2×2 of the same sapling type (oak/birch/acacia/cherry).
Grow (two modes):
Bonemeal Mode (default): hit any sapling in the 2×2 with bonemeal 4 times within ~5s. I reccommend bonemealing each sapling 1x to prevent accidental vanilla trees.
Bone Block Mode: drop a bone block onto the 2×2. (It consumes the dropped item; if you drop a stack, the whole stack is used—drop one!)
Configure (in-game menu)
Run: /function las2x2:menu
Toggle Mode: Bonemeal ⇄ Bone Block.
Bonemeal Uses Required: set 1–10 (default 4).
Menu auto-refreshes after each click so you see the new value right away.
Note: opening the menu requires permission to run /function (singleplayer with cheats ON or server op). After you set it, players just farm as usual.
Install
Drop the zip in your world’s datapacks/ folder → /reload. That’s it.
Built for minecraft 1.21.x; no “made for older version” nag, tiny footprint, no resource pack needed.
Tips & gotchas
Make sure the 2×2 is all the same species and has enough space (logs/leaves need room or it just won’t grow, kind of obvious but still).
In Bone Block mode, the exact item that triggered growth is consumed; if you don’t want to lose a stack, toss a single block.
Plays nice with popular farming packs; if something seems off, reload the world and re-open the menu—usually clears it up.
That’s basically it—simple, fast, and great for stocking up on planks… a lot of planks.
