# The Linguistic Barrier

Make chat **immersive**: communication is restricted by **distance** and by the **dialects** players have learned.

## How it works

– **Closer = clearer**. Far away messages degrade into enchanting-table glyphs (Galactic alphabet vibe).
– Want to trade? Meet **face to face** instead of spying on global chat.

## Dialects

Players can learn rare dialects by finding **Dialect Tomes**:

– **Nether Speak**: understand / communicate with players in the Nether
– **Enderman Echo**: understand / communicate with players in The End

Cross-dimension communication works when **both players** know the dialect.

## Commands

– `/lingbarrier dialects` (shows what you know)
– `/lingbarrier reload` (admin)
– `/lingbarrier givebook [player]` (admin)

## Config

Everything is configurable:

– Clear / max chat distance
– Dialect books (name/lore) + drop chances + mob sources
