# 🍏 Pomme

Pomme is an experimental, early-stage, vanilla-style Minecraft shader that reimagines depth effects. Inspired by Parallax Occlusion Mapping (POM) but designed to overcome its limitations, Pomme extrudes and carves faces to simulate actual 3D geometry.

Unlike classic POM, which flattens at sharp angles and sharply stops at face edges, Pomme maintains its depth effect consistently, offering a more immersive visual style.

## ✨ Features

Pomme can extrude the pixels of any surface, independent of the view angle. It handles intersecting geometry surprisingly well: shared edges between blocks, block-entity collision, and entity-entity intersections should render correctly in most cases.

Currently supports:
– Blocks
– Tile entities
– Entities (including players and items)
– Held items

## ⚠️ Known Limitations

Pomme is still in proof-of-concept territory.
It makes heavy use of geometry shaders, which may cause significant performance issues depending on your GPU.

Current issues:
– “Layered effects” aren’t rendered (enchantment glint, fog, blindness…)
– Sloped liquids aren’t extruded correctly
– Torches can break extrusion when viewed head-on
– Transparent block culling (glass, water) is view-direction dependent
– Some single-plane models render oddly (sunflowers, stonecutter blade, rails…)
– Various rendering glitches (potted plants, tall seagrass, calibrated sculk sensors…)
– Extrusion is based on texture luminance, not actual height maps (yet)

# Overview
Pixel Perfect is a Minecraft shader designed from scratch with two main goals:

1. **Aesthetics with Function**: It revamps the vanilla look while maintaining gameplay, focusing on color and functionality. Unlike other shaders that are mainly eye candy, Pixel Perfect aims to be a viable replacement for Minecraft’s default visuals.
2. **Cool Toys**: This shader has lots of unique features and small enhancements, from invisibility distortion to streamer mode lighting to custom colorgrading (upload your own LUTs if you’re tech-savvy enough).

# Features

– Nearly every value and shader effect can be tweaked, from *contrast* to *wind speed* to *invisibility distortion*.

– Rather than blowing randomly, foliage gets affected by individual gusts of wind traveling in different directions
– Weather affects the speed, direction, and intensity of wind gusts
– Different dimensions have their own wind profiles
– Choose between several **Darkness Options**, including *Hardcore Darkness* and *Streamer Mode*.

– Shader packs are generally not very dependent on MC versions; as long as Iris is available, Photon should just work.

Optimism-shader

This is a little Shader which makes Minecraft at night more Horror-ish.

1. It adds an dark fog at night, if you aren’t around a lightsource,
2. It adds red eyes that can randomly* appear and if the light level is 0 the shader makes that spot completely dark, instead of the vanilla darkness where you can still see pretty much everything if you put your brightness up.
3. At night-time the light can for a short period of time go out.

this is my first Shader and I made this in two days so don’t expect much!

*(almost random there isn’t a proper way to do complete randomness in a shader)
