Witheredwastes

The witheredwastes datapack adds 5 distinct features that were designed in order to improve teamplay through creating a challenge and allowing more diversity.

Following features have been implemented:

  • The Wasteland
  • Enhanced Mobs
  • The Contribution System
  • Respawn Delay
  • The Progression System
  • The Wasteland
Creates a new challenge by restricting players to certain safezones. Begins with only one, but gives players the opportunity to create their own ones, which ideally should be accomplished by gathering Wither Pearls together in a group.

Wither Pearls can be acquired by killing endermen in the overworld. They can be used to call the Wither Doctor and, using him, to buy additional Safezones.

    Enhanced Mobs
As the name suggests, this enhances mobs. It does so relative to the biggest absolute X or Z value. The aim here was to create an additional challenge for players, making combat groups when venturing out further more appetising.

    The Contribution System
With the Contribution System, players are given the opportunity to give individuals who emerged as big team players something back (with the additional incentive of receiving benefits themselves).
Every Contribution Cycle, every player has one Contribution Token at their disposal which they can gift to any other player but themselves. Ideally that would be one of the big teamplayers or other leader figure.
Those players then accumulate these points, and at certain numbers, they unlock up to 4 tiers of effects:

  • Tier 1: Jump Boost
  • Tier 2: Strength & Haste
  • Tier 3: Regeneration
  • Tier 4: Resistance & Saturation

  • These effects will be given to every player in a 16 block radius EXCEPT for the player who causes them. (This is in order to prevent certain individuals from making a trade out of them.)

    Respawn Delay
Upon dying, players will now accumulate Deathpoints. For every Deathpoint, they will be held in place in spectator mode for 2 seconds (This can be changed). Of course this is not intended to make playing an ordeal for players, but to let them think twice about going out on their own.

Every time a player dies, they will leave behind their “soul”. Other players can then collect said “soul”, which immediately respawns the parted soul, and simultaneously reduces their deathscore by 8 (This can be changed). So no worries about having to wait half an hour after dying a lot of times. Maybe just rely on your mates when attempting something risky.

    The Progression System
This feature adds a fully functioning stat system to the game! Players can now earn a seperate kind of XP by performing common tasks (also non-combat related!). Using this XP they can gain levels and gain free stat points for each level-up. Said stat points can then be assigned to a set of 9 stats, all of which have their very own effects on the player:

  • Strength – Attack Damage
  • Agility – Movement Speed
  • Dexterity – Attack Speed
  • Vitality – Max HP
  • Charisma – Trading Discounts
  • Magic – Improving Enchantments
  • Foresight – Luck
  • Intelligence – Improving Potions
  • Wisdom – Gaining Minecraft XP
  • All of this can be done through a “console”. You can create a console by putting a book with the title “System Access” into a lectern and opening the GUI.

    Wither Storm Sickness Shader

    ### This datapack applies Pinky G. Rocket’s “Withered Filter” shader when the player has wither sickness, also comes with a photosensitive mode.

    ****
    This datapack requires

    [Cracker’s Wither Storm Mod](https://modrinth.com/mod/crackers-wither-storm-mod/versions?g=1.20.1)

    [Exposure](https://modrinth.com/mod/exposure/versions?g=1.20.1)

[Withered Filter (Not Hosted On Modrinth)](https://legacy.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/withered-filter)

    ****
    Known Issues:

Shader has to be reapplied every second, this can have performance impacts and obnoxious stutters, I don’t know how to fix this.

Shader is removed temporarily when changing perspectives.

    Wither Spawn Egg Craft

Lets You Craft A Wither Spawn Egg And You Can Use It Toward Your Advantage.

    Wither Spawn Egg

It allows players to craft a Wither spawn egg, giving them the ability to summon the powerful boss whenever they choose, making gameplay more exciting, challenging, and customizable in their Minecraft world.

Ricky Spanish Wither Spawn SFX Replacement

A simple mod that swaps the globally played Wither Spawn SFX (entity.wither.spawn) with the Ricky Spanish SFX featured in unfunny Seth MacFarlane sitcom American Dad! at the mention or appearance of the alien persona.

Have every base grief accompanied by Ricky Spanish today for the low price of twelve chromosomes!

    Wither Skulled

Some people prefer their wither skeleton skulls basically handed to them on a silver platter or crafted with easily accessible materials. What if you went with the later and wanted to be able to craft them but wanted to actually have to work a bit and explore to be able to do so?

**Are you someone who just finds those echo shards sitting in your chests to be useless since you already have a recovery compass?**

_Well with this Mod/Datapack, that’s no longer the case! This datapack offers (what I personally believe) is a much more balanced approach to crafting wither skeleton skulls and also to make use of two items that don’t really have uses!_

Using a single echo shard and a skull surrounded with some soul sand/soil. You now can craft a single skull! Encouraging you to break all those skulls around ancient cities and to horde those echo shards! **Not too easily craftable and doesn’t simply hand them to you on a silver platter with almost always dropping skulls from wither skeletons!**

    Wither Skull Barter

Adds **Wither Skeleton Skull** to a Piglin Bartering loot table.

The default weight is **5**, which makes a drop chance of **~1.07%**, or **5/469**, or as rare as **Enchanted Book with Soul Speed** barter drop from vanilla loot table.

For the reference use Minecraft Wiki page on **[Bartering](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Bartering#Items_bartered)**.

Wither Skeleton no Stone Sword drop

    # Description

Wither Skeletons guard the Nether Fortress with their menacing Stone Swords.
That’s all well and good, until you start killing a couple and your inventory is suddently filled with a dozen of half-broken stone swords.

Given that by the time you reach the Nether, you probably have higher tier tools than stone (and stone isn’t really hard to come by), the fact that Wither Skeletons drop their swords is mostly useless and will only clog your inventory for no reason.

This datapack fixes it by setting their drop chances to 0 for their weapon.
Note that if a Wither Skeleton was to pickup a sword dropped by a player (say you got killed and one of them picked up your diamond sword), the Wither Skeleton would still drop it normally.

    # Performances

This datapack has been optimized to have minimal impact on performances, logic is run every 1s and only runs on Wither Skeletons in the Nether Dimension and marks already checked skeletons with a tag to not re-process them.

    Wither Skeleton Archers in Fortresses

Using commands, wither skeletons are capable of wielding bows, and even inflict fire damage on a hit with them. This datapack/server-side mod replaces the skeletons that spawn in nether fortresses with such wither skeletons, making these structures more difficult. __Regular sword-wielding wither skeletons are unaffected.__

**Original:** The [original datapack](https://www.planetminecraft.com/data-pack/wither-skeleton-archers-in-nether-fortresses/) my datapack is based off of was abandoned three years ago, and performs the replacement whenever a skeleton spawns in the nether on nether bricks (or related blocks). It also wouldn’t work in newer versions, as it did this nether check using `Dimension:-1` instead of the newer format `Dimension:the_nether`. My datapack instead uses a predicate to detect whether a skeleton is in a nether fortress.

**Versions:** The only differences between the legacy version (1.15 – 1.18.2), the 1.19.x version (1.19 – 1.19.4), and the modern version (1.20+) are syntax-based in the code; each one works the same way. This is necessary because the `feature` field in `location` predicates was renamed to `structure` in 1.19.3, and the `alternative` predicate type was renamed to `any_of` in 1.20.

**Mod Compatibility:** It is currently impossible to detect whether an entity is in any structure that has a given tag, so instead I used `any_of`/`alternative` to allow for modded fortresses, such as:
    – Apocalyptic Fortress (`hexfortress:nether_fortress`)
    – Dungeons and Taverns (`minecraft:nether_keep`)
    – YUNG’s Better Fortresses (`betterfortresses:fortress`)

This mod is also compatible with any fortress mod that keeps the `minecraft:fortress` namespace. If you have a modded structure that isn’t on this list that you’d like this datapack to be compatible with, you can edit the file `data/wsaif/predicates/in_fortress.json` and follow the format there to add it.

**Uninstalling:** This datapack is safe to remove from your world, but doing so won’t revert any existing wither skeleton archers back to skeletons.
