Adds Custom Rain, Snow & “Sleet” – Low Resolution Arena Version

This is what is uses in almost all our videos, and every MxSxC1 Arena video.

The latest version of this pack is the official vesion to use with our “The Dark Is A Cold Lonely Shadow” maps, data packs, texture packs, and The Arena.

_NOTE: Removal of Rain, Splash, Buff, Bubble, Etc Particles – has been split out to “NoParticles” pack from v100_

Sleet is a variation on snow specifically designed for shaders and custom lighting effects. This is designed and tested to work with around 25 versions of the most popular shaders using Iris only.

**Notes/Issues:**

This was designed for “The Dark Is A Cold Lonely Shadow” and “MxSxC1 – The Arena” with custom texture packs, Iris, and specific shaders in mind.

It can be intensive and cause slow down on some shaders and settings, and the shaders need to be tweaked to produce the effects shown in video screenshots.

The latest version is much much improved from the High Res Version, and despite being lower resolution, looks better.

This pack deliberately uses techniques which will not work with everyone. It works with most shaders, and in Vanilla, but will look “wrong” with some setups shaders and settings. We have tried to make it work with as many as possible, and this is a more balanced version.

The effects which make it look wrong in some cases are entirely what make it work in others, and is what we are looking for. This produces the “sleet” effect.

This pack is designed to work at night, with bright lights in the background. It is tweaked for PVP to give visibility over large distances. Though this has been tuned for daytime, because of this night time and distance/visibility focus, it can look weak in daylight.

Another version of pack with Crisp Snow doesn’t have this effect and is being tuned for day time without the Sleet effect. Way down the back log.

This has been performance tested and tuned for the Arena battles with flashing lights, flashing beacons and glowing effects at midnight.

The rain can look a little thick (now improved since v099), and not as much work has gone into it. A better version with white/grey (and also pink) rain is there, but needs some work. The focus here is on the snow/sleet.

A lot of time has gone into the tweaking of this and the feedback is much appreciated.

We have better but more intensive versions, used for specific scenes, and some insane variations which may release in future, but they are not optimised like this one.

#THIS IS ALPHA SOME OF THE TEXTURES AND PBR ARE VERY OLD WITH MISTAKES

Any screenshots (unless specified otherwise) were taken ONLY with this texture pack and our NoParticles pack. Nothing else was active. However the video and some screenshots are a combination of all our packs together – some of which are unreleased.

We are aware the PBR isn’t good, this is Alpha and includes the first PBR textures we ever attempted. We know the failings, and the scales don’t match – however it’s what we use currently in all our videos and screenshots faulty or not.

Some of these textures are not optimised and will cause weird results and slow down in some shaders. We are aware of this, know how to fix, and planning to improve when we find time.

We are aware of the disjoint in a few cases for resolution.

This is a seriously cut down texture pack and does not include everything, and doesn’t yet cover everything required for “The Time Machine”.

This DOES NOT cover even a small percentage of all the textures you see in our videos.

Prismarine isn’t quite working how we want it.

We have tested in around 15-20 Shader Packs, all using Iris.

**Pack Purpose**
This pack simply replaces foliage colours changing them from Green to Purple.

The colours have been tweaked for specific scenes in “The Dark Is A Cold Lonely Shadow” and are seen in multiple screenshots and videos.

It will replace green grass, or trees, etc…with purple.

Enough people asked for this decided to make a pack for it, but it does nothing more exciting, and needs to be combined with other packs to give the full effects seen in some videos.

But this is the most basic colour settings people asked for!

MxSxC1 – No Particles

This will remove the following 3 types of particles from being displayed in game:

Rain Splashes

Player Buff Effects

Underwater Bubbles

Please see screenshots (before and after) for examples.

This may offer some minimal performance increase, especially with some shaders. However, note the game is still displaying the particles and processing them with this method, it’s just you can’t see them.

This is particularly useful for things like screenshots, videos, competition entries, or just because you don’t like the particles.

If you are looking for the other particle effects used in our videos and “The Dark Is A Cold Lonely Shadow” they will be released once finished and, along with the respective packs. The Sculk Pack is progressing slowly, and will contain a lot of the custom particles people have been asking for…

This is one of 20+ packs, and used in the following projects, none of which are ready for release.

****Pack Purpose****

This will replace the following textures in game:
– New moon phases
– Prototype of the spyglass scope used in “The Dark Is A Cold Lonely Shadow”

These moon phases are taken from real images of our Earths Moon.

This is designed to be used alongside the following two packs due to be released shortly on Modrinth and Github:
– “MxSxC1 The Time Machine – Texture Pack”
– “MxSxC1 The Time Machine – Data Pack”

They are deliberately lower quality as when speeding up time and using Time Lapse from “MxSxC1 The Time Machine – Data Pack” it can cause performance hit.

A higher resolution version is being worked on, but low priority, this does was we need for now.
