# **About XP-like HUD**

**XP-like HUD** (or wixewsky’s XP-like HUD) will change in-game HUD (health, food, armor, etc) to use colored experience-like bars, being very vanilla-friendly.

Originally I made this HUD for Better than Adventure! and published it on Planet Minecraft, but came up porting this to vanilla Minecraft with some improvements and publishing here, on Modrinth.

**This count will grow with updates.** If you want to see your favorite mod in this list, DM me on Discord or Telegram (read Contact). Some mods not included in this list can work without issues, but it is not guaranteed. Forks of included mods must work fine, if textures and texture structuring was not affected by the fork. I recommend use mod versions that were released before XP-like HUD’s update since some mods may add more content in the HUD or change it with updates.

Due to the rounded corners, some mods, like hunger removal or HUD flipping mods, may cause some visual problems. You can download sharp or circular corner variant to fix these compatibility issues. Just download additional (supplementary) file by selecting it on download page, since it is not the main version of this Resource Pack. Also you can find an addon for flipped armor bar inside .zip file.

## Variants and Addons
This Resource Pack comes in three variants:

– **Rounded**: The main variant, rounds only the left or right side of bars, depending on its position.
– **Sharp**: No corners of the bars are rounded.
– **Circular**: Every corner of the bars is rounded.

This Resource Pack includes four optional addons inside .zip file:

– **Pre-hunger Addon**. Flips armor and oxygen bars for better experience with hunger removal mods.
– **Numbered Hotbar Addon**. Adds numbers on hotbar for better accessibility.
– **Alpha and Beta Addon**. Extends XP-like HUD’s support to every single Minecraft version.
– **Armor Chroma Addon**. Adds full compatibility for Armor Chroma and Armor Chroma for Fabric.

Due to some limitations with assets count, some XP-like HUD versions on Minecraft 1.20.3 and below can crash your game because it has too much folders inside assets. Delete useless mods, update your game, use version with less content, or use older Resource Pack versions, there is nothing I can do (except stop adding more and more mod support) (Minecraft 1.20.X and below worked fine on my end while I was testing mods ever since I added “CRASH FIX” and “Vanilla” versions inside main .zip btw).

A stable and bug-free experience is not guaranteed, especially with old Minecraft versions or a modded client. **In my experience**, vanilla and modded Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.21.1 and 1.21.8 worked perfectly fine. Modded Minecraft 1.21.8 with a few supported mods worked fine as well.

# Hello!

This is a Resource Pack that gives the game a smooth but familiar look.

If you want textures that preserve the essence of the originals and don’t over-detail then this is the pack for you. Pixels are accurately blended into each other to create a more high-defenition version of the Minecraft textures. In fact the effect is so subtle that it looks vanilla from a distance.

**VanillaXBR utilises an image-upscaling algorithm in creating parts of its textures which ensures that nothing of the vanilla Minecraft look is lost.**

So if you love Vanilla, look no further than this!

# How was this made?

This resource pack utilises a [scaling method](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel-art_scaling_algorithms#2%C3%97SaI) on the textures called ‘xBR’. If you’ve used a retro console emulator before then you may recognise it.

xBR was made by [Hyllian](https://github.com/Hyllian) to upscale pixel art four times its original size. I’d like to give credit to him, as this pack would have not been possible without it.

The tools I used to utilise the xBR algorithm outside of the emulators it was designed for were scripted versions of [ImageResizer](https://github.com/Hawkynt/2dimagefilter) and [Zenju’s xBRZ](https://sourceforge.net/projects/xbrz/). I then went into [paint.net](http://www.getpaint.net) to edit and combine textures in post. Feel free to make your own xBR Resource Packs by upscaling your own textures! I would love to see what you come up with.

# A lazy upscale is a bad upscale.

(disclaimer) While most upscale projects take a hands-off approach to upscaling, VanillaXBR stands out. Its an iterative process where I upscale, layer, refine and etch each part of a texture manually. I give a level of care and attention which ensures that the textures produced are of the highest possible quality with no compromises.

Unlike an AI-based algorithm, xBR is a humanly designed scaling algorithm that I utilise to create textures that take a derived art style. I portray them accurately instead of what would have been an inconsistent and blurry mess. I understand the typical presumptions someone might have upon looking at this pack at first, so please take a moment to look and appreciate my textures before judging! Understand how this is not (and will never be) a lazy upscale.

unsup

***Un**a’s **S**imple **Up**dater*

unsup is a somewhat minimal implementation of a generic working directory
syncer in Java. It supports running as a Java agent, to piggy-back off of the
launch of another program.

***It is particularly good at syncing small private modpacks or one-offs in small groups, where a full public distribution (e.g. on Modrinth!) is overkill or undesirable.*** It is capable of downloading mods from their original sources, wherever that may be… as long as it speaks HTTP(S).

An [unsup.ini](https://git.sleeping.town/unascribed/unsup/wiki/Config-format)
must be placed in the working directory for unsup to know what to do, or a `-Dunsup.bootstrapUrl=` JVM argument specifying where to find such a file.

The updater works hard to ensure the working directory is never left in an
inconsistent state. Short of a sudden power loss in the middle of applying
changes (an incredibly short time window), an unsup update cannot result in
an inconsistent or corrupted working directory.

It does hash-based consistency validation (with your choice of function, SHA-256 recommended) on all downloads and on files before overwriting
them, warning the user if they’ve changed something that has been updated. It
additionally supports signing manifests using OpenBSD Signify for additional
security.

unsup’s unique simplified design means it is compatible with **all launchers**,
from the vanilla launcher to MultiMC. Just add `-javaagent:unsup.jar` to the
JVM arguments, and place `unsup.jar` and `unsup.ini` in the .minecraft
directory.

In Prism Launcher, you can utilize unsup as a “component” by importing the
`com.unascribed.unsup.json` from the latest release on Forgejo. (I can’t upload JSON files to Modrinth). This will allow Prism
Launcher to download and manage unsup. (MultiMC does not support Java agent
components, despite requests.)

It also has a built-in concept of *environments* and *flavors*, allowing it to
be used to manage server installs rather than just clients, and allowing users
to pick between multiple mutually incompatible mod sets with a feature-packed interface unlike any other updater tool.

unsup is also capable of updating MultiMC’s “components”, including
unsup itself if it is added as one. This means you can update mod loaders or
Minecraft itself.

## Creating Packs
You can either point unsup at a [Packwiz](https://packwiz.infra.link/) pack.toml (recommended),
or write a native unsup manifest by hand. See [the wiki](https://git.sleeping.town/unascribed/unsup/wiki/Manifest-format) for info on the
native manifest format. The Creator GUI is on hold, as Packwiz has become a
de-facto standard for Minecraft modpacks.

## Stability
unsup has been used for modpacks on versions from b1.7.3 to 1.21.5, both client and server,
and is known to work with Forge (both legacy and modern), Fabric, Quilt, and NeoForge. It
has successfully powered many modpacks, from [small](https://git.sleeping.town/Rewind/Upsilon)
to [large](https://github.com/ModFest/bc23-pack). Native manifest and Packwiz manifest
support are both quite stable, and have been used extensively.

Signing support is still somewhat experimental, and has not been deployed by anyone at
large scale. That someone could be you — please let me know if it works well!

## GUI
unsup has a minimal and elegant GUI that works everywhere (yes, including
macOS) and can have all of its colors customized to make it fit in with your
branding. It ships with a dark theme with minty accents. Check out the gallery tab!

Throwin Peeps

A simple and silly plugin for Beta 1.7.3 Minecraft that allows players to pickup and throw other players.

The plugin uses the permission node “`throwinpeeps.toggle“` to see who is elliglbe to throw players.

“`/throwinpeeps“` toggles thew ability to throw on.

Thorough Keybindings

For as many Minecraft versions as possible, this mod makes the keybindings of usually fixed mappings rebindable. This is a client side mod.

For example, this lets you remap Escape and F3 in-game, even in versions before F3 was made rebindable. Also adds rebinding options for Shift, Control, Alt as well as the digits to navigate the profiling pie chart. Furthermore, backports mappings to earlier game versions, like rebinding F5 or hotbar slot keys.
